Do you have that one favorite crafty thing that gets you giddy butterflies heart-leaping happy? Is it clay, wool, paint, fabric, wood, a crisp brand new fine point pen, embroidery thread, watercolors, metal?
Mine is paper. And here is some Lokta paper that just came in the mail. I floated out of the post office on air.
Bits and flecks, rough and smooth textures, and the colors! All from the Lokta bush in Nepal. I so appreciate the Lokta bush, it's inner bark, and the people who turn that bark into paper, which I then get to turn into jewelry.
Whisper of pale cream-peach. Coral melon. Deep berry jam. Soft lilac.
The Lokta bush renews itself again and again. What a wonderful thing.
I'd love to hear your favorite crafty medium. The thing that by its texture or weight or shape or possibilities brings you joy.

Hi Anna -
I thought I had left a comment here yesterday, but I guess I forgot to do the anti-spam extra step, and now it is lost.... Oh well, it wasn't particularly profound or life altering in any way.
I do love all those luscious colors. Color is my favorite thing to play with - Color and texture being the main things that inspire me to create. I wish I could narrow my interests and pick a favorite medium - Maybe some day ;-).

Lisa - color and texture, yes, so so good in many mediums - they can all be favorites! :) Paper is my favorite, but there are so many others I love too.

I did love knitting and do crewel work but my hands aren't that good anymore. But I can relate to the excitement of getting new supplies as they open up a whole world of possibilities... Michelle

Michelle, I know what you mean about opening up possibilities. If I have something, felt or even paper, and don't have a plan for it, it's still so nice to know it's there when the time comes.
